Palmetto, Fla. – The Lace Buckle Boutique, a local retail store located in Palmetto, Florida, recently hosted an open house to support Imagine Schools North Manatee’s 5th grade class’ “Imagine That!” fundraiser. This year, the class chose Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as the fundraising recipient, and The Lace Buckle Boutique donated $500 to the fundraiser.
“When I heard about the recipient of the fundraiser this year, I felt an immediate need to get involved. As a mother and business owner, causes like this really tug at the heartstrings. As a parent of a student at Imagine Schools North Manatee, I was so proud of my son and his classmates for their fundraising efforts, and I wanted to help,” said Melissa Burns, owner of The Lace Buckle Boutique. “We knew that hosting an open house would help raise awareness for this fundraiser and help the class have an even larger impact for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.”
The Lace Buckle Boutique raised $500 and collected new items for donations; the total list of items included toiletries, crayons, blankets, stuffed animals, books, puzzles and other various toys.
“Every year, our students get so excited to participate in service learning projects, but this year with the introduction to “Imagine That!”, it was truly touching to see a more concerted effort towards a cause that each grade level chose. We also enjoy seeing the parents of our students get involved, and we are so grateful to Melissa and her customers for helping us reach new heights with this fundraiser,” said Dawn Patterson, Imagine Schools North Manatee School Leader. “The students were thrilled to be able to donate even more and make a difference in the lives of the children at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.”
